NO PROBLEMS BETWEEN GUARDIOLA AND TOURE

Dimitri Seluk, the agent in charge of Manchester City’s star midfielder, Yaya Toure is of the opinion that his client has no lingering rift between him and his manager at City, Pep Guardiola.

So far, since the beginning of this season, Toure has featured only in one game under Guardiola, who was formerly Bayern Munich’s head coach. This apart, the midfielder was left out of the Champions League group stage squad and might likely not feature in the Wednesday 19th October, 2016 game against Benfica.

Earlier on, Toure’s agent, Seluk had caused a sort of war of words between himself and the Manchester City boss. This came about after he accused the City boss of “humiliating” his client. Guardiola did not hesitate to demand an apology from Toure.

However, Seluk has reiterated that there is no bad blood between Toure and his manager and believes that his client would likely remain until the season comes to an end at the Etihad Stadium. These were his words when he spoke to Tuttomercatoweb:

"Problems between Yaya and Pep? No, absolutely not. I can deny those claims. Yaya will stay at Manchester City. He has a valid contract until the end of the season. After that, we'll see what the best solution is for his future."

During the previous transfer window, Inter was heavily linked with a planned move for Toure. On the other hand, a concrete proposal from Serie A had failed to work out.

Seluk attributes the failure of Toure’s planned switch to San Siro to the high asking price placed on the midfielder by City. He remains largely of the opinion that his client still has a lot of teeming admirers.

"There are many teams who would like Yaya, not only in Italy," he concluded.
