Ghana footballer Michael Essien, an Africa Union Peace Ambassador, is organising an Africa XI versus World XI charity match in Accra.

The match, to help promote peach in Africa, is set for 25 May and will feature former stars of the continent such as Cameroon legend Roger Milla, Abedi Pele and George Weah.

Chelsea midfielder Essien will captain the Africa XI and teammates Salomon Kalou and Didier Drogba have also announced they will play.

As Ambassador, Essien has a commitment to promote and raise the awareness of peace in Africa through football. The funds raised from the showpiece game will be used to enhance peace initiatives across the continent.
