The Manchester City boss, Manuel Pellegrini, is not happy with the fact that one of his main guys in the midfield, Yaya Toure, is not going to be available for a few weeks at the start of the New Year because of his national commitments. But, according to Pellegrini, it’s something that the club already knew and that’s why, the veteran player Frank Lampard was signed on loan. However, it’s not certain at the moment whether Lampard would be at Etihad for the second half of the season or not. But, still, Toure, with his recent form, would have been more useful for Pellegrini at this crucial phase in the Premier League. Manchester City is 3 points behind the table leaders Chelsea at this point of time. It’s a gap which is not that big. Some consistent performances by City and a couple of bad days for Chelsea can make the defending champions get to the top of the table. The upcoming few games are vital for both the teams and thus, it’s understandable why Pellegrini is a bit disappointed to have to lose somebody like Toure. Speaking to the media yesterday, the Chilean said, “If I say I am happy, I would be lying. You can’t be happy as a manager to lose one of your best guys at this point in time, but, the rules are rules. You can’t do much about it.” |
