Neymar is currently going through a difficult point in time in relation to his national football team and his club Barcelona - the 24 year old player has to decide on which competition to perform in, either the 2016 Copa America or the Olympic Games. The Copa America will kick off on June 3 and finish on June 26 meanwhile the Olympic Games initiates on August 5 and terminates on August 21. There is no clash between both international competitions which means that any player is capable of performing in both tournaments and representing their national team at an international stage. Unfortunately for Neymar, he will not be able to perform in both of these competitions because Barcelona will not allow the Brazilian attacker to do so. The main reason why Barcelona do not want to see Neymar playing in the Copa America and in the Olympic Games is because the Spanish club wants to have their Brazilian superstar take a proper rest before the upcoming season of 2016-17 initiates. They are alreay the hot favourites to win the Chmapions League according to the StanJames betting odds. There is no doubt whatsoever that Neymar is one of the key figures of Barcelona, the Brazilian attacker forms part of one of the most prolific and probably feared offensive combinations which consists of: Suarez, Messi and Neymar himself. Throughout the history of football, it has been seen that players are consistently getting injured when performing for their respective national football teams and this is what Barcelona wants to avoid - they don’t want to risk Neymar getting injured and making him unable to play in the next season which could harm their chances of winning big titles next year. It’s believed that Neymar has already made his choice and the 24 year old player decided to go with the Olympic Games which will be hosted by Brazil in Rio de Janeiro. |
