Manchester City have once again be subjected to criticism from the midfielder Yaya Touré, who stated that it was a club who prevented him from spending time with his dying brother towards the end of the season. The Touré brothers recently lost their younger brother Ibrahim Toure, who is believed to have succumbed to cancer, at the age of 28. Since he has been undergoing treatment in England for a considerable period, both Yaya Touré and Kolo Toure have been able to visit him consistently.
Ivory Coast star Yaya Touré, though, has now claimed that City did not allow him to visit his brother since they made him comply with the postseason to in the United Arab Emirates. This accusation comes just weeks after he claimed that City did not celebrate his birthday properly. This started several transfer rumours linking him with the likes of Paris St Germain. Touré even admitted that he did not know whether he will be playing for City next season. Yaya Touré and Kolo Toure did not attend the funeral since they have been taking part at the World Cup with the Ivory Coast national team.
It was speculated that they would return from the tournament, but the Ivory Coast FA recently issued a statement saying that there will be no change in plans. City expressed their condolences on the official website after hearing about the loss.
"I confess that I am still very sad. I'm suffering because I feel I have done nothing useful for him the last few weeks. At the end of the season, I wanted to stay for four or five days with my brother before I flew to prepare for the World Cup with Ivory Coast. Except that City did not want to give me a few days,” said the 31-year-old midfielder.
